We
are excited to announce our upcoming Ninth Annual Future
Teachers Conference on Saturday, May 17th, 2008.
The Future Teachers Conference is a
daylong conference designed to give students from all areas and all
levels a look at education today and to inspire them to pursue this
profession.
Students, teachers, administrators, and
other educational professionals from local community colleges,
four-year university programs and the K-12 schools come together for
this event. This day includes a continental breakfast, lunch with a
keynote speaker, and a chance to meet and network with many current
and future educators. Most importantly, it offers many choices of
sessions each year.
This year’s theme is “Future Teachers: Charting our Course”.
We hope to see you at the 2008 Future Teachers Conference on May
17th at Green River Community College.

History
Each
May beginning in the year 2000, the Teachers of Tomorrow club has
held an annual Future Teachers Conference. During these conferences,
local educators present their best lessons and/or advice for those
interested in teaching as a career. The daylong event includes a
wide range of breakout sessions on various topics as well as
breakfast and lunch.
All of the Future Teachers Conferences at Green River have been huge
successes, with 100 – 200 participants from community colleges, high
schools, and 4-year schools.
Project TEACH students are encouraged to become members of the
planning committee for this event. Planning begins each fall as part
of the Teachers of Tomorrow club. Contact
club officers or advisors
for more information.
